If you are looking for a healthy and nutritious breakfast recipe, start your day with a bowl of porridge for a nutritious, high-fibre breakfast to keep you going.  You only need a few basic ingredients that you would usually have at home, a few minutes of work in the kitchen and a delicious breakfast that will keep you full and start your day with positive energies.

INGREDIENTS

3 tbsp porridge oats

3 tbsp soya milk ( we prefer non-dairy milk but any milk will work)

3 tbsp water 

A pinch of cinnamon 

*sometimes we add 1 tsp cocoa powder when we want a chocolate flavour

TOPPINGS

Any fruit of choice ( we usually go for bananas and strawberries)

1 tsp chia seeds

1 tsp peanut butter

Nuts and seeds

1 tsp agave syrup ( or honey )

Method

  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, mix the oats, cinnamon, milk and water. Bring to the boil while stirring occasionally. 
  2. Then turn down the heat and cook for 4-5 mins, stirring all the time, so that the oats don’t stick to the bottom of the saucepan. 
  3. Remove and top with the banana, strawberries and the rest of your desired toppings.
